BARTLETT TELEVISION PRODUCTIONS WINS TWO COMMUNICATOR AWARDS Rochester, NY, January 10, 2005, - Dave
Bartlett, of Bartlett Television Productions, has been
awarded two 2004 Communicator Awards of Distinction for
his videography work on two different projects. The
awards were given for Balloons over the
Valley, a musical look at hot-air ballooning, and
for a 2004 political campaign commercial shot on
24p. "Balloons Over The Valley was a project conceived, produced, shot and edited by Dave Bartlett. It was shot on location in Wellsville, NY, home of the Great Wellsville Balloon Rally. Footage was shot at the 2002 and 2003 events, and the piece was completed in 2004. It features a musical overview of the sights and sounds of this rural towns biggest annual event, featuring nearly 50 hot air balloons from all over the country. A clip from the video can be seen here. The Judge Connell Campaign: Endorsements is a political advertisement which aired during the 2004 November election campaigns. Produced in collaboration with Griffin Communications, the spot was shot on 24p using Panasonics DVX-100A, mounted to a jib arm. I wanted a sophisticated and stately look. After some tests, we decided to go with 24p video using a cine-gamma curve, and it looked great, said Dave Bartlett who also edited the commercial. I share this award with Tim Griffin who produced, and camera assistant Aaron Austin. The spot, which resulted in Judge Connells re-election, can be seen here. Bartlett Television Productions was created in 2003 by Dave Bartlett, who has been in the broadcast television business for over 14 years.
