BARTLETT TELEVISION PRODUCTIONS WINS TWO 2006 COMMUNICATOR AWARDS

Rochester, NY, January 3, 2006, - Dave Bartlett, of Bartlett Television Productions, has been awarded two 2006 Communicator Awards of Distinction for his videography, editing and producing work on two different projects.  The awards were given for “New York Welcomes You - DVD Intro", a six minute intro to a NY state toursim DVD, and for editing on "A Rochester Wedding Story: Dale & Loraine"  a documentary style look at a couples wedding planning and wedding day.

"New York Welcomes You" is a DVD project that Dave was involved with for over 18 months, shooting video all around the state, and culminated with the edit process, which Dave was helped produce. The plan was for 11 individual videos for each region of NYS, and opening video to start the DVD, but the opening video was somewhat undefined. While in the editing process, Dave developed the opening 6 minute video, which started with voice over and continuted with a fast paced overview of all 11 regions. Once the concept, the music and copy were approved by Executive Producer Byan Hickman, Dave worked with editor Chuck Munier to create the opening moments to this exiting travel guide DVD. More about the project can be seen at nywelcomesyou.com.

A Rochester Wedding Story: Dale & Loraine” is more than just a wedding video. This was Dave's first attempt to bridge his work on high-end wedding projects, to his concept for a "reality show" style presentation. This wedding documentary opens with a 3 mintue look at the wedding couple, showing seperate interview moments linked together. Those interviews were shot on the Panasonic DVX100a in the film-like 24p mode. As the wedding day footage begins, the interviews continue to be intermixed with interlaced 60i video of the actual wedding day event. There are over 1000 edits, and several differents musical themes involved in the 40 minute video, to keep a non-stop pace that draws in the viewer. "As I was cutting this, I really started to see the reality show style coming through. This was the pilot for what I now offer to produce for clients who want an incredible video production of the one day in their life that deserves it" said Dave Bartlett, who shot and edited the entire program. Samples from the video can be seen HERE.
